JT and Pat Molder

This photo just came in from Pat Pate Molder, showing her and her husband on their 25th anniversary. We can certainly use more of these up-to-date photos from all of us bloggers. Thanks, Pat, for sharing with us.

This picture was made for our 25th wedding anniversary on December 22, 2006. JT has two children, Kem and Jem. I have two children, Martha and Tim. We say "we have four children" because that is the way we feel. JT graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science & Electrical Engineering Degree. He retired from General Dynamics/Lockheed November 1, 1993, after 42 years with the company. He was in management with the most years of his service in the Systems Integration Laboratory. I've actually flown an F-16 - in a sumulator !! I retired December 31, 2002, after working as Office Manager for an independent oil operator/rancher for almost 28 years. In 1985 JT and I bought a 230 acre ranch in Jack County, halfway between Wichita Falls and Fort Worth. We built a home there and moved to the country in 1990 and commuted 50 miles to Fort Worth to our jobs. JT spent hours clearing mesquite, killing out prickly pear, sprigging coastal bermuda, and raising Beefmaster cattle. He loves the land and made our place beautiful. We loved living in the country. And, then the Barnett Shale came into play. The surface owner has very little say, at least in Texas. The mineral rights owner holds all the cards. We had tried to buy the minerals and don't blame the people for keeping them. They started drilling on our land, ruining coastal fields, putting in roads, and building pipe lines. Yes, JT negotiated sizeable land damages, but we would have given it all back to have the land back the way it was. Our insurance agent came by one day and asked us to give him a price for the land, the house, the cattle, the machinery, the whole ball of wax. We gave him a figure, never dreaming he would say okay, but he said "okay". And, that is why we are back in the Fort Worth area, living in Benbrook, TX.

Obviously, the comment above came from Pat. I just moved it into this space.

Meant to say we sold the ranch in May 2006 and moved back to the city life on June 20, 2006. Pat

Hey you're lookin' good Pat! I'm so glad you have a nice life working for you. I paid attention to the house across from the Episcopal Church. One can hardly see it becouse of so many tree saplings. The posts are still there, but most of the shells etc, are gone from them.

Great photo ... and it is wonderful that your lives intertwined. Seems like you are talented folks that have worked diligently for a fine life.

No longer can I be envious of your chosen as I have "married well" .. but let's just say that ole JT knows a thing or two about quality.
