Fwd: GRACE MULLENBERG

----------
From: Verona Buchele

Grace(Mullenberg) and my dad (Paul Buchele) were in the same high school class.  They stayed in touch through the years and Mom (Helen) and Dad traveled with Grace on some of her research excursions.  They shared an interest in Kansas history and the Post Rock fences.  Grace lived in Manhattan for many years but when she could no longer drive (2002 or 2003), moved to where her son George lived.  Jetmore comes to mind, but that might be totally wrong.  She passed away a few years ago (2005 or 2006, I think).

Some additional info on George Muilenburg. I visited with my mother and an e-mail was forwarded to me from cousin Art regarding George. Note the different spelling of last name which I assume is no doubt the proper spelling. Art used to stop and stay with George's mother Grace when she was living on his way to or from Texas. Since her death he has stayed with George and wife Charlene. Do not know if they have any children. George's father, Virgil was killed in an auto accident, my mother thinks he was going to college at the time. Grace and George lived with her parents, Guy and Myrtle Metcalf for some time after her husbands accident. She never remarried. George apparently lives in Jetmore and would probably be amazed about how much has been written about him lately.

Hello, Cedar Valians!
Grace Muilenburg asked us to finish her Flint Hills book before she died in 2005 (no premonition on her part, just that we were helping her and, we felt, not moving really fast, so having an email conversation as to whether she did not want to enlist someone else). Anyway, we are re-framing the book to put more of Grace's experiences into it and would like to talk to people who remember her.
