Reva Sawyer just emailed me a link to this photo, which some of you may remember. We wonder where it has been all these years and who took such good care of it. Anybody know anything about the 1936 CV Firetruck? It seems to have been for sale in Wichita for around $17,000.

This old beauty has been the subject of much conjecture at the coffee shop. The above photo appeared in on of the used vehicle journals that the good ol boys study as they talk, joke and spin yarns over their cuppa joe. Several have seen it on display in Wichita and one recalls answering fire calls on it. I personally remember my father driving it to fires--he worked just across the street and usually was the first volunteer on the scene.
This truck was replaced with a more "modern" truck of early '50s vintage altough this probably happened in the '60s since the city wasn't baying a new truck.
I think an amateur collecter purchased it for a pittance even tho it had less than 10,000 miles on the odometer. It probably sat in a protected place over the years and now someone, perhaps an heir, wants to cash out. Some of this is conjecture so as or if I learn more facts I will pass them along
